Go Easy on Your Body

I remember taking this picture.

We took a grown-up trip after our daughter was born and I’d just finished breastfeeding. I felt self-conscious about my post-baby body not being exactly how I wanted it. I bought a one-piece to hide the baby belly I was still working off. I’m more comfortable in a 2-piece but I thought I’d try it, and it did help me feel confident my first time back in a bathing suit. But looking back, I see a pretty good-looking body! Why are we so hard on ourselves?⁣

After babies and breastfeeding, it takes time for the physical stuff to snap back. We scrutinize and want to rush the process but now I’m working on my body after baby number three, and I know I have to honor the PROCESS.⁣

Taking really good care of your body IS a choice and a daily investment but don’t ever second guess the value: YOU ARE WORTH IT. It doesn’t have to be restrictive or hard. It can be SIMPLE, enjoyable, AND work into your day vs adding to your already very full to-do list.

Taking care of your body should make you feel proud, not stressed.

Prioritizing your needs is setting healthy boundaries, not setting you up for mom guilt. Start where you are and enjoy every step toward your goals.

I’ve found what works for me, have you?
