Let’s talk about Aging and Intimacy

It’s taboo so we’re totally going there…

Things changed after marriage…then after kids…then life gets busy and more stressful and suddenly you realize, you don’t feel like yourself anymore. The sizzle has fizzled.

Total transparency- I’ve felt that too.

Have you ever caught yourself thinking:

I used to feel more attractive and confident in my skin.
Why aren’t things bouncing back like they used to?
We used to hug and touch more often.
Ugh, I’m just never in the mood anymore.
Ugh, HE’S just never in the mood anymore.
I’m doing all the things and still get so moody with my kids and husband.
What’s wrong with me??

There’s nothing “wrong” with you but there might be an imbalance in your hormones.

As we age our hormones start to slow down. That drop impacts things like moodiness, sleep quality, belly weight gain, aging skin, and yes- your sex drive.

I know- it’s awkward. But it’s important to talk about because about 50% of adults between 40-60 years struggle in this department and nobody wants to admit it.

We all have sex hormones. It’s part of what makes us unique as women and men. But when they’re imbalanced it effects so much. Besides irritability, poor sleep, belly fat, bloating and aging skin it influences our cycles and peri/post menopausal symptoms as well.

I don’t know about you but when I don’t feel comfortable in my skin, it impacts my self-confidence which makes me feel less desirable and less likely to want to be intimate. You agree?

Also intimacy is WAY MORE than sex drive. It’s how you feel about yourself, how close your relationships are, how you communicate, how confident you feel to be yourself, be vulnerable, show affection, and not feel stressed about it.
